Yep, we're nothing but friendly here in Brooklyn Heights. Make sure to do your part -- make eye contact and say hello to at least one stranger every say on the street. :)

That's AWESOME! Who knew you needed to move to the big city to find a tight community? I look forward to hearing about your adventures with your neighbors...

There is a diner down the street from my place that reminds me of the Seinfeld diner. It could become my local hangout:-)

You mean the "Clark St. Restaurant" -- nice people, especially the original owner's son -- the harried bald guy who seats you on busy Sunday brunch.

There FAR better food all around you though. Not so much in Brooklyn Heights proper, but all around. Jacques Torres, Five Front, Sahadi's, Ferdinando's Focacceria, Chestnut, Stinky Bklyn, Marquet, Chip Shop, the buger's at Henry St. Ale House... it goes on and on!

Thanks for the recs! I will add them to my list of places to visit when I finally get settled. Yesterday the NY Times had a large article all about pizza in Brooklyn...I might just eat my way through the borough
