Red Arrows

The Red Arrows, Britain's air force display team, visited NYC for the first time tonight as part of its North American goodwill tour. After a display over Staten Island, the jets buzzed the Statue of Liberty. Spectacular! Definitely has me in the mood for the 4th of July!

Here's the view from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade...

COOL! The Red Arrows sound a little more aggressive than the Blue Angels... I wonder which came first?

Well the Red Arrows were founded in 1965 and the Blue Angels in 1946 so our cousins across the pond are a few years younger. I really liked the red, white and blue smoke. I don't recall the Blue Angels doing that.

SJS, you and Don should come for a visit!
